Order From Metal to Rhinestones: A Quest for the Crown

When you wear holey jeans, rock concert T-shirts, and frizzy headbanger hair, why would you trade it all in for sequins, rhinestones, and Cinderella high heels? One day a woman planted a transforming fantasy in my heavy-metal-infused brain and mesmerized me with visions of tiaras and roses. When I asked my father if I could participate in my first pageant, he shouted, "You want to do what?"

In the early 1990s, I lost my mind and participated in a transformative adventure to capture a teenage beauty queen crown. Twenty years later, I wrote about my journey and have made available my memoir From Metal to Rhinestones: A Quest for the Crown.

Many genealogy friends helped to edit chapters in this book and each reviewer was surprised how much fun they had reading their portion. They wish I would give them the whole book to see how it ended. What is especially exciting is that few of the reviewers liked pageants before reading the book! However, they said my writing style kept them wanting more. My momma would be so proud! I'm the girl who struggled in writing classes in school.

Here's a recent review of my book.
I just finished reading your book and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. My favorite books are cozy mysteries and this book was so similar. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next.
I must say the insight into the world of pageants was enlightening, also. A family member is a former Miss Teen USA. I have heard talk about the trials, tribulations, and expense that the teenage beauty queen's family faced with as she competed. Now I have a better understanding.
Your achievements are impressive, and you are a good storyteller. Keep on writhing. - Karen in Houston, Texas

These positive reviews inspired me to share this story in multiple formats so you can enjoy a fun read set in Houston, Texas in the early 1990s. The teacher in me also wants share with those who hope to complete their memoir someday know about my publication choices. If you're ready to buy the book, you can visit my official website and chose your option directly. Link to all book formats.

The eBook is only available through Kindle. The eBook version contains full-color photos, the same as the print book, for $4.99.
Why do I limit it only to the Kindle? Amazon sells about 70-80% of all ebooks. When I first published my books I also had them on Smashwords to get in all possible venues. Alas, it didn't net more than a few extra sales and didn't increase my revenue anywhere close to 20-30%. Also with the Kindle Unlimited program, I have access to Amazon's marketing tools, including the Amazon Prime book lending feature. Having sold my other books through this method, it has definitely increased my sales.

Black & White Print

A 250-page printed book with black and white photos is available through Amazon.com and CreateSpace for $14.99.
Amazon.com uses CreateSpace for Print-On-Demand books. I love Print-On-Demand as they handle printing, order processing, and mailing while I teach in my home school or write more books. The convience is well work the markup for their service. If you haven't seen a print-on-demand book made by Createspace, no worries. The quality of the book has made me feel like a published author through a major clearing house. Most of the pictures are fine in black and white and I tried to describe any important colors. The black and white photo option is more economical than the full-color books. I feel the full-color photos tell the story where words can not, but I'd rather have people read the fun story, so I made this available.

Color Print

A 250-page printed book with full-color photos is available only through CreateSpace for $29.99.
The only difference between this version and the black and white printed edition is the use of full-color photos, which coss $15 more. There are some photos that were originally photographed in black and white, so they are not colorized, but any time I speak of a specific dress and it's positive or negative color combination, you can actually see for yourself! If you have a story that needs color photos, you'll want to offer a full-color version.

Autographed Copies

An autographed, full-color copy of my book is available only through my website for $35.
If you order my printed books and find me at a conference, I'll gladly sign them. If you want an autographed copy mailed directly to you, then I order the book, sign it, and then ship it your way. You can pay by Paypal at the following link. It may take a few weeks to get your copy, I'll email you before I send it.

Please consider supporting my writing efforts through the purchase of From Metal to Rhinestones: A Quest for the Crown or any of my other books. If you have read any of my books, I'd love to hear what you think. Leave a comment below.
