3 Suppliers to Start Your Scrapbook Stash

In 2009, I jumped on the digital scrapbook crazy, and I’ve never looked back. I’ve made thousands of scrapbook pages during that time, and there are three designers that I use in nearly every family scrapbook that I make, and a few of the heritage scrapbooks as well.

If you’re just starting out in digital scrapbooking, you’ll want to purchase Photoshop Elements. Then, you’ll want to visit these three talented designers for all the basic supplies you’ll need for your beginner stash of supplies. You’ll have templates, background papers, decorative elements, and title art.

If it weren’t for Simply Yin and her templates, I’m not sure I would complete half as many scrapbooks as I do. I LOVE her templates.

Simply Yin Scrapbook Template #199

All you do is:

  • download these templates to your computer.
  • Open them in Photoshop Elements.
  • Save a copy of the template and use the copy to make a new layout (this lets you reuse the template again and again).
  • Drag photos onto your layout. Press Ctrl+Shift+G to snap the photos into the spaces where the boxes are, and you’re set.
  • Swap out the brown lined background for your favorite background papers.
  • Add some journaling

Simply Yin makes my scrapbooking a snap!

To access her templates, go to her website Simply Yin. Scroll down the page and look at the bar on the right for “Templates for Download.” Ba-da-bing. Ba-da-boom. You have a collection of templates to use for your next project!

I have loved Amber Reimer’s scrapbook kits for nearly 10 years. Here are two of my favorite kits.

Americana Kit by Amber Reimer
(I used this kit for my Grandpa Lew’s heritage scrapbook)
I used this scrapbook for a family vacation to Disney World!!!

She has kits for personal scrapbooking, scrapbooking your children, and scrapbooking your family history. The best part is she still offers these kits for free. I’m shocked. These kits are so amazing. I think I owe her dinner several times over.

Here’s another kit that I just discovered. You might like it for a heritage scrapbook album in your near future.

I love the lace and flowers in this kit!!!

WORD ART WORLD Titles & Quotes

Jennifer at Word Art World makes my title graphics easy peasy! Her talent for typographic art is super cool, and she’s always coming out with new word art kits. Additionally, she has some paper and element kits that I use in nearly every year-in-review album I create.

Her word art collections are sometimes free for a short period of time or available for a very reasonable price. Just visit her Etsy shop at have fun searching for great page kits and title collections. Or spend hours on her blog looking through her posts about her kits.

Now, you don’t keep her word arts black. You use the paint bucket tool in Photoshop Elements to recolor the words. Or you can use the Gtrl+G option to add a pattern paper to the words. There are so many options to customize her word art pieces.

  1. Dana… I love you! I will work these ideas into the video rotation. You keep sending video requests my way and I'll keep making them for you. That's how the blog title graphic video came to be.

  2. I agree with Dana. I would love to see a video of using the templates. I have made a bunch of digital scrap book pages but feel like mine take a long time to complete. I would definitely make more if I found a faster process.
